On Tuesday evening (7th July) our Tulips kick off their preparation for the 26/27 season with a home fixture against Elliot Sandy’s Diamonds. The last time we faced AFC Rushden & Diamonds was in December of 2023 where the Tulips came out 3-0 winners thanks to a brace from Jordan Graham.

Following our promotion to the National League North, Spalding have brought in the trio of Dan Jarvis, Ashton Fox and Peter Crook from Peterborough Sports as well as retaining our prolific goalscorers Jack Roberts and Bart Cybulski. These signings aim to bring experience into an already accomplished squad and will give support to our younger players.

Rushden have done much of the same, aiming to better their defensive strength by bringing in Sam Brown and Sidik Atcha. A familiar face in James Clifton has also joined the Diamonds to offer versatility and attacking threat.

The match is set out to be an exciting occasion with both Elliot Sandy and James Clifton returning to The Sir Halley Stewart and we are all excited to see our men back in action.
