Jimmy Dean’s men remain unbeaten after yet another captivating performance against Quorn on Tuesday evening. The Tulips scored early on through a lovely finish from Sembie-Ferris and continued to counter for the rest of the half with the boys almost scoring on a couple of occasions. The second half brought more excitement in front of goal as Fowkes netted a brace to secure a 3-0 victory over the Reds.

The Tulips displayed their quality from early on, pressing with intent and causing real problems for the Reds’ defence. Sembie-Ferris opened the scoring just 2 minutes into the game after a wonderful run towards the opposition’s goal before placing the ball into the bottom left to give us the lead.

Ben Fowkes continued to cause trouble, beating multiple Quorn players before unleashing a shot with his left foot that was finished by Sani but instantly recalled for offside. The hosts then came close troubling the Spalding backline, but the Quorn man shot just wide of the left upright.

Olopade had a standout first half, exploiting the right-hand side of the pitch with his pace and strength to deliver multiple balls into the box. Despite this, Spalding went in only 1-0 up at half-time which should have easily been more.

Heading out of the tunnel at half-time, the boys looked spirited and in control of the game. Just minutes into the second half, Sani dispatched a lovely through ball to Ceesay who took a shot at goal that couldn’t hit the target.

Shortly after entering the game, Roberts drove into the box and laid the ball off to Fowkes whose shot was parried away brilliantly by the Quorn keeper.

In the 84th minute, Spalding netted their second goal of the match through Ben Fowkes, who got on the end of Dan Jarvis’ deflected shot. Then, right at the death, Fowkes bagged a brace after an audacious backheeled attempt that found its way past the opposition keeper.
