The Tulips crafted a spectacular comeback to snatch all 3 points on the road against Spennymoor Town on Tuesday evening. An extraordinary second-half hat trick from Bart Cybulski makes it 8 goals from 8 appearances and makes him the league’s top goalscorer.

It was an end-to-end start to the fixture, with either side producing a handful of half chances. Byrne played a lovely through ball to Fowkes who aimed his cross at Cybulski, but the cross was cleared well by the host’s defence.

The Moors then replied with a lovely back-post cross into the box, but Johnson was there to clear any danger off the line. Just minutes later, Johnson went close to scoring as a corner was lofted into the 18-yard area, but his effort went just wide of the upright.

Then, on 30 minutes, the hosts found the score sheet through Richie Bennett after a mix-up between the Spalding defence found the striker who rounded Crook and slotted home for 1-0.

A couple of chances before the break ensued, with both Cybulski and Roberts having their efforts saved well by the Moors keeper.

An electric second-half showing started with Shane Byrne finding the back of the net, only for the referee to deem it illegal following a foul on a Moors player.

A brilliant run from Roberts found Bart Cybulski in the middle of the penalty area, but he couldn’t control the ball. Following this, Betteka and Bendle came on to revitalise the energy within the squad.

And that they did. On the hour mark, Shane Byrne found Cybulski with a gorgeous through ball who curled his effort into the top left corner of the net to make it one apiece.

Several threatening crosses into the box came from the hosts as they sought a winner, but the Tulips defence stayed strong and compact to keep it level.

Then, on 86 minutes, Cybulski netted once more finishing with a lovely close-range header to make the score 2-1.

Just minutes later, the prolific goalscorer completed his hat trick by firing a low effort beneath the outstretched arm of Oram and sealing the 3 points.
