Spalding United are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Daniel Barton, with the exciting 21 year old joining the Tulips following his appearance in Tuesdays victory over Stamford AFC in the Lincolnshire Cup.

Barton arrives at the Sir Halley Stewart Field with considerable senior experience already behind him, including football in EFL League One with Cambridge United.

A product of Cambridge United’s academy, Barton progressed through the ranks to earn professional terms before establishing himself within the U’s first team squad.

The versatile attacker made 16 League One appearances during the 2024/25 campaign, starting six times, and also featured for Cambridge in the League Cup and EFL Trophy.

Most recently, Barton has been with Welsh champions The New Saints, continuing his development and being part of a squad competing domestically and in European competition.

His permanent arrival is an exciting addition for both Daniel and the club.
