The exciting attacking player joins the Tulips following his departure from Birmingham City, having progressed through the Championship club’s academy before breaking into the first team.

Betteka made his senior debut aged just 17, coming off the bench in Birmingham’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Lincoln City in January 2025, before signing his first professional contract with his hometown club.

Capable of playing from the left, right, attacking midfield or CF, Betteka further underlined his potential during Birmingham’s 3-1 pre season victory over La Liga side Sevilla, his performances at Birmingham also attracted reported interest from Crystal Palace, Rangers and Norwich City.

Betteka has experienced international football, having been called up by Algeria Under-20s and represented the country at youth level.

He arrives at the Sir Halley Stewart Field with an exciting opportunity to play regular senior football and adds additional pace, creativity and attacking quality to Jimmy Dean’s squad.
