Play-Off Final Chairman's Statement

Play-Off Final Chairman's Statement

Spalding United3 May - 11:43

Ground Layout Changes & Ticketing Information For Tomorrow's Play-Off Final.

We have now reached the club’s full licensed capacity, and I’d like to sincerely thank supporters from both clubs for what can only be described as extraordinary, and frankly unprecedented, backing. The level of support has been remarkable, and it promises to create a truly special occasion for everyone involved.

We look forward to welcoming you all to The Sir Halley on Monday 4th May for a 3:00pm kick-off.

Once again, our fan zone will be in full swing, with the beer tent, DJ, Cheesy Pig, additional chicken strip vendors, and of course our regular burger bar all open and ready well before kick-off.

Turnstiles and entertainment open from 12:00pm, and we strongly encourage everyone to arrive early, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy what should be a brilliant pre-match build-up.

Following Wednesday night’s near-perfect occasion against Halesowen Town — which was played in a fantastic spirit with a superb atmosphere throughout the ground — we had originally planned for Monday’s final in much the same way. Wednesday was a credit to everyone involved, and I’d particularly like to thank Halesowen Town, their staff, and supporters, who represented their club, town, and league exceptionally well.

However, on Saturday morning, Real Bedford FC formally contacted us with a request for supporter segregation. This request was also submitted to the Southern League and local authority.

Real Bedford expressed concerns regarding what they perceive to be potential safety risks for their supporters within an unsegregated stadium environment.

As a football club, we take any concerns surrounding supporter safety extremely seriously.

While we remain fully confident in the planning and successful management of our previous fixture — delivered in close communication with local authorities, external safety partners, and the Southern League — we have, at the direct request of Real Bedford FC’s Chairman, implemented a segregated away section for Monday’s final.

This decision was not our preference, nor was it part of our original plans, but in the interests of cooperation, safety, and ensuring a smooth and successful event for all supporters, it is now in place.

Important information for Real Bedford supporters:

* All Real Bedford fans must enter via Turnstiles 6 and 7 only
* These turnstiles are designated exclusively for away supporters
* Dedicated toilet, food, and drink facilities will be available within the segregated area
* Security personnel from our external partners, SLS, will be positioned at entry points and around the segregation zones

Any supporters found in the incorrect designated area — home or away — will be removed from the stadium by security.

It is disappointing that this late adjustment has been necessary, particularly given the excellent nature of support shown throughout the season, where fans have largely enjoyed football in the proper non-league spirit — passionate, lively, and respectful.

Unfortunately, due to these enforced last-minute operational changes, no further tickets will be made available on the day. The fixture will remain sold out through to kick-off.

Any Real Bedford supporters who have accidentally purchased home tickets should contact a member of our matchday security team on the day, who will re-locate you to the relevant area.

Thank you in advance for your understanding, cooperation, and support.

We now look forward to what should be a memorable afternoon of football.
