For our final game of pre-season, the Tulips travel to Chelmsford, Essex on Saturday afternoon (August 1st). Chelmsford City currently play in the National League South, finishing 10th last season just outside of the playoff spots after winning 21 out of 46 games.

The Clarets have had an impressive pre-season winning comfortably against Bishop’s Stortford and Ipswich Town’s U21s. Their most recent result was a 2-1 defeat to Witham Town with an equalising goal from Denzelle Olopade not enough to see City continue their unbeaten streak.

Many signings have been made by the Clarets with a trio of players from Southend United: Jack Bridge, Cav Miley and Nathan Ralph. Jack Bridge is an “old-fashioned winger” that poses a crossing threat, while Miley brings a wealth of experience to the City side.

Jimmy Dean’s men look to get back to winning ways after a frustrating 3-2 loss on Tuesday evening against Coventry City’s U21s with many chances being squandered.
