The Tulips make the 180-mile journey to Merseyside to face Marine AFC on Saturday afternoon (10th October). The Mariners currently sit in 16th place, picking up just 12 points from their opening 10 games while registering 4 wins.

Their most recent result was a 2-0 victory in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round against Warrington Town. Goals from Declan Drysdale and Josh Wardle booked their place in the fourth and final qualifying round against National League side Hartlepool.

The Mariners have only claimed one clean sheet all season which could be worrying for the hosts due to the firepower that Spalding possess in Bart Cybulski and Ben Fowkes.

However, Marine also have a wealth of attacking threat with the likes of George Newell and Finlay Sinclair-Smith on 3 and 2 goals, respectively.

These players could prove a problem for injury-stricken Spalding, who added Dion Sembie-Ferris to the list of sidelined players as he picked up a hamstring injury against Bury Town on Tuesday.

Jimmy Dean remained positive during his post-match interview despite the injury setbacks, saying that we were ‘very intense’ in the first half.

We look forward to returning to league action, Come on You Tulips!
