The Tulips return home to the Sir Halley Stewart on Saturday afternoon (15th August) for the first home game of the season against Oxford City. Spalding look to make it back-to-back wins after a sublime display against Radcliffe in our season opener.

Oxford City finished 17th in last season’s edition of the National League North, winning just 15 out of 46 league games. They brought in an illustrious list of players over the summer, including Scott Pollock - formerly of Brackley Town and Boston United - and Tyrone Marsh from Bedford Town. Both attacking players aim to bolster City’s attacking arsenal.

The Hoops’ season opener was a 1-0 victory over Bedford Town after a 77th minute header from Ludwig Francillette nestled into the back of the net. The defender’s winning goal earned him a spot in the National League North ‘Team of The Week’.

Dean had a lot of praise for all players on Saturday, especially loanee Sam Straughan-Brown who delivered a wonderful assist in his debut game.
