Spalding look to maintain their unbeaten start to pre-season on Tuesday evening (21st July) as the Tulips travel to Quorn, Leicestershire in their first away game in preparation for the 26/27 season. The last time we faced the Reds was in January of 2026 which produced an exhilarating game that finished 4-3 to Jimmy Dean’s men.
Quorn have made a mixed start to pre-season with two losses and a win, with the most recent result being a 4-1 loss to Bedworth United. Over the summer, the Reds have brought in several former football league players to bring experience and quality to the team.
Ben Kaninda brings strength in defense to bolster their back line while Lindon Meikle and Madou Cisse bring attacking quality.
Dean’s post-match interview after Saturday’s game revealed that Liam Moore will be returning to the squad with Bart Cybulski also looking to get back to fitness after carrying a knee injury recently.
These additions to the squad are important if the Tulips want to be more clinical in front of goal. We look forward to our first away trip of pre-season, Come on you Tulips!
