We previously faced South Shields in last season’s Emirates FA Cup campaign, making it to the fourth round of qualifying before crashing out of the competition following a 4-0 defeat to the Mariners.

The Mariners have made an excellent start to the season remaining unbeaten in 6th place, registering three wins and a draw.

Their most recent match was postponed due to bad weather against Brackley Town; however, the result prior was a 1-1 draw with Merthyr which saw Centre-Half Robbie Tinkler sent off after picking up 2 yellow cards in quick succession.

The Mariners have reinforced their squad over the summer, bringing in former Tulips player Khanya Leshabela and Adam Campbell from Hartlepool to strengthen the midfield area.

Jimmy Dean showed lots of praise for the team’s performance against Worksop, especially for Bendle and Cybulski who were standout players in our first home victory of the season.
