The Tulips look to return to winning ways this Saturday (29th August) as we welcome Worksop Town to the Sir Halley Stewart.
We most recently faced the Tigers in a pre-season friendly in July of 2025, winning 3-1 with goals from Ceesay and Cybulski clinching the victory.
Worksop currently sit 11th in the table, winning 2 out of their 4 opening games. Their most recent result was a 3-0 loss to Hereford FC, where they also lost key player Aleks Starcenko to a straight red card decision from the referee.
The Tigers have exchanged older experience for younger talent with Kian Harratt and the Ilkeston Town duo of Sam Essien and Jay Abudu joining the squad.
Worksop set out in a 4-1-4-1 formation which brings defensive solidity and a compact midfield, which Spalding may find hard to break through. These signings fit neatly into the Tigers’ structure with Harratt being the lone striker and Essien playing in the pivot.
After last Saturday’s narrow loss to Chester FC, Jimmy Dean said he was ‘proud of what the players gave’, adding that he felt ‘gutted’ that the boys couldn’t get a result against the league leaders.
We look forward to seeing you there, Come on You Tulips!
