
Spalding United are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Tom Pugh on loan from Halifax Town.
Pugh arrives with strong Football League experience, having developed in the academies of Leeds United and Scunthorpe United before signing his first professional contract with the Iron in 2019. He made his senior debut in the EFL Trophy against Mansfield Town in 2018 and went on to make nearly 40 senior appearances across four seasons at Glanford Park.
Comfortable operating in central midfield or on the right, Pugh is a versatile and energetic presence who adds quality and depth to the squad. During his time at Scunthorpe, he also gained valuable experience out on loan, featuring for Scarborough Athletic and Hereford, making 12 appearances for the Bulls before returning to play 13 times in the closing stages of the 2023/24 campaign.
During the 2025–26 season, Tom spent a period on loan at Spennymoor Town from his parent club FC Halifax Town. He joined the National League North side in September 2025, Pugh made 18 appearances in all competitions and scored one goal,
At international level, Pugh has represented Wales Under-21s, earning two caps and marking his debut with a goal against Albania.
